Handmade for Cats

壁の塗装がいよいよ始まり、

空間全体がぐっと「家らしく」なってきました。

猫と暮らす工房付きの家も、

完成に向けて静かに輪郭を帯びてきています。

玄関まわりも下地塗装が施され、

やわらかな白が空間を包みはじめました。

我が家は、最近よく見かける土間玄関のスタイルを取り入れています。

外と内の境界をゆるやかにし、自転車などもそのまま入れられる設計にしました。

奥には見えない位置に収納ラックを設け、

生活感を表に出しすぎない工夫も。

また、最近はオープン棚の下駄箱も人気ですが、あえて扉付きに。

靴の匂いを抑え、空気を整えることを優先しました。

洗面スペースも少しずつ形になってきています。

洗面台は、キッチンでもお世話になったフリーハンドイマイさんに制作していただきました。

完成見学会で見た造作洗面台の美しさがずっと印象に残っていて、

「自分の家でも」と思っていたものが、こうして現実になっていきます。

上段の引き出しには着替えを、オープン棚にはタオルを。

使い方をイメージしながら設計したことで、日々の動きが自然と整っていくはずです。

そして今回の小さなこだわりは、洗面と鏡をあえて離したこと。

水滴が飛ぶストレスを減らし、視覚的にもすっきりとした印象にしています。

きっとこのカウンターには猫も軽やかに乗ってきて、そのまま上の窓へ。

外の気配を感じる“ニャルソックポイント”になりそうです。

完成まではあと1ヶ月ほど。

少しずつ現実になっていくこの時間が、不思議で、そしてとても楽しみです。

Construction has entered the finishing stage as the walls are now being painted, bringing a soft, cohesive atmosphere to the home.

The entrance features a doma (earthen floor) design, allowing bicycles and outdoor items to be brought inside seamlessly. Storage is thoughtfully placed out of sight, while a closed shoe cabinet was chosen to minimize odors and maintain a clean environment.

The custom vanity, crafted by Freehand Imai, reflects a long-held desire for built-in furniture. Its layout is designed for everyday comfort, with drawers for clothing and open shelving for towels.

A key detail is the separation between the sink and mirror, reducing water splashes and creating a calmer visual balance.

The space is also designed with cats in mind—this vanity will likely become a jumping point to the high window, doubling as a lookout spot.

With about a month until completion, the home is finally starting to feel real.
