Handmade for Cats

今日、設計士さんが現場監督に行ってくださり、

現在の様子を写真で送ってくださいました。

まず印象的だったのは、2階天井の杉の羽目板。

無事に貼り終わったそうで、写真からもやわらかな木目の美しさが伝わってきます。

木造住宅なので木を感じられるのは自然なことかもしれませんが、

床だけでなく天井にも木目が広がる空間は、やはりとても贅沢。

見上げたときに木のぬくもりを感じられるのは、

この家の大きな魅力のひとつになりそうです。

そして室内は、石膏ボードもかなり貼り進められていて、

空間の輪郭がはっきり見えてきました。

写真の奥に見えるのが、楽しみにしているリーディングヌックです。

まだ下地や桟が見えているので完成形は想像しにくい部分もありますが、

それでも「ここがあの場所になるんだ」と思うとわくわくします。

ヌックの横には埋め込みの棚も設けていて、

本を並べたり小物を飾ったり、

暮らしが始まったあとの風景まで自然と想像が膨らみます。

これは階段まわりの施工。

設計士さんも「階段周りは石膏ボードが一段ずつ貼られ、苦労の痕が見られました」

とおっしゃっていました。

以前現場で作業を見ていたときも、

1枚ずつ細かく寸法を合わせながら切り出している様子があり、

見ているだけでもとても手間のかかる工程だと感じました。

こうした細かな積み重ねこそ、注文住宅ならでは。

既製の家ではなかなか味わえない、

ひとつずつ形になっていく過程の尊さを改めて感じます。

前回見に行ったときは、まだ“工事現場”という印象が強かったのですが、

今回はぐっと家らしさが増していて、

完成に向けて大きく進んだのを実感しました。

現場の皆さま、丁寧に進めてくださり本当にありがとうございます。

大変な作業が続くと思いますが、完成の日を楽しみにしています。

The construction of our custom wooden home is steadily taking shape.

Today, our architect visited the site and shared updated photos of the progress. One of the most exciting updates is the cedar plank ceiling on the second floor, which has now been fully installed. The natural wood grain spreading across the ceiling adds warmth and gives the space a luxurious feel.

The gypsum boards are also being installed throughout the interior, making the rooms feel much more defined. In the back, you can now begin to recognize the shape of the reading nook, along with a built-in recessed shelf beside it.

The staircase area especially shows the craftsmanship involved, as each board had to be carefully cut and fitted step by step. Seeing this level of detailed work reminds us how much time and care goes into building a truly custom home.

Compared to our last visit, the space finally feels less like a construction site and more like a real home. We are deeply grateful to everyone working on site and can’t wait to see the next stage.
