Handmade for Cats

青森ひば材を使った、

ワンちゃん用の餌台を制作しています。

今回はフード用ではなく、

お水を飲むための台としてお使いになるようで、

「水に強そうな素材」という点が

ご購入の決め手になったそうです。

猫用の餌台では、

器を受ける部分を“猫の顔”の形にしていますが、

ワンちゃん用ということで、

今回はシンプルな正円にしました。

お水を飲むときに

器が当たってしまわないよう、

受ける部分は少し深めに掘っています。

また、今回は

お皿の高さが低めのオーダーだったため、

サイドに入れる足跡のモチーフも

全体のバランスを見て、少し小さめに。

I’m currently working on a wooden feeding stand for dogs made from Aomori Hiba wood.
This piece is designed specifically as a water stand, and the customer chose Aomori Hiba for its durability and resistance to moisture.

Unlike my cat feeding stands, which feature a cat-shaped bowl holder, this dog version has a simple circular design.
The bowl area is carved slightly deeper to prevent the dish from hitting the wood while the dog is drinking.

Since the bowl height was ordered a bit lower, the paw print motif on the side is also made slightly smaller to keep the overall balance.
