Handmade for Cats

本日は猫と暮らす工房付きの家の進捗を

見に行きました。

わが家はスキップフロア構造のため、

同じ2階部分でも

いわゆる「半階段」のような造りになっています。

1階から2階へと続く階段は、

このように途中が抜けたデザイン。

階段を駆け上がるうちの子たちの姿が、

下からも上からもよく見えるようになっています。

小さな窓の桟（さん）も、少し幅広に。

猫がちょこんと乗って、

安心して“ニャルソック”できるサイズ感です。

自分の部屋の窓にも、

猫が座れるくらいの奥行きを持たせた窓桟を設けました。

ここから目の前に広がる竹林を眺めたり、

気ままに外の気配を感じたり。

猫たちがそれぞれのお気に入りの場所を見つけて、

のびのびと過ごしてくれたらいいな、

そんなことを思いながら完成を待っています。

This visit was all about checking the progress of our skip-floor house designed for living with cats.

The open staircase connects each level gently, making it easy to watch our cats run up and down freely. Because the stairs are partially open, their movements can be seen from different angles throughout the house.

We also designed wider window sills that allow our cats to sit comfortably and enjoy their daily “patrol duty.” From these perches, they’ll be able to look out over the bamboo grove and observe the world outside at their own pace.

This house is slowly taking shape as a place where both people and cats can move, rest, and enjoy their favorite spots together.
